A regular customer of Yeehaa, Ken Miyamoto, caught 31.4kg kingfish on Carpenter Blue Fish off the rocks yesterday!

Catching 30kg plus kingfish off the rock is , no doubt, a big mission

Congratulations Ken.

They tried to land the fish without gaffing but after half a dozen failed attempts they then had to gaff the fish to land it

And lucky to not land on his Carpenter when he fell sideways on to a rock (in either this vid, or his other one off the same spot).

Fantastic catch, and a great video of utter chaos and eventual triumph and exhaustion/relief. I think I learned  the Japanese word for something that sounds like Yamash*ta when the first one breaks off.

Fletcher Bay Rd will be like SH1 at Puhoi on a long weekend after these vids.
