Hi all. I have sold the boat and Looking at getting in to some kayak fishing this summer. Mostly inner gulf (Auckland). Launching at Mairangi bay/Takapuna. Maybe waitemata harbour when the tide isn't ripping through. Would love a Viking or similar but the price is very steep! What! After a boat mate its frikken cheap as. Save yourself the hassle of upgrading look at a second hand Profish 400 at least.

| Personally, I'd stick to Ocean Kayak or Viking. If you think you're going to last the distance, get an mid to upper end model from the start. If it's more of a try and see how you get on, then a Viking Espri or GT, or Ocean Kayak Scrambler or Tetra are all good reliable entry level boats. |

| Also interested in first fishing kayak for wife and daughter. I have a trusty Prowler 13 but wondered about getting something a bit lighter but is still reasonably good through the water. Considering something like Viking Espri, Ocean Kayaks Tetra or maybe Scrambler II. Are there any others I should consider and your thoughts on these would be appreciated. |

I am considering this for the wife and kids this summer. Maybe worth thinking about as an alternative to a kayak. Good price.  fit a 50h yamaha to the back and away they go!!  |
