Plan on heading out there sunday if the weather plays ball had reasonable success last time we went down but weather was warmer and tides were bigger,
To all the jig gurus do the small tides make it harder to get them on the bite?
Also does anyone know if bait is holding on the tairua wharf at the moment
Cheers Pukefisher

Hey Matt, haven't been down there for a while but usually can find bait around the wharf.
I'm not completly convinced big tides = best fishing out on these wide pins.
I think more relevant is the presence of bait out on the pins & bite times, granted tho during bigger tides you often get longer periods of bite time.
We have noticed on numerous occasions that the stated bite time is when the fishing becomes more consistently productive & that activity results in more activity.
But hey sometimes you just gotta get out when you can & go hard!
