Good Stuff Kerren, I think you got a more vocal responce when you changed it around the other way, ie when you had to login in to see anything, lol.

You hit the nail on the head there, Paul.... ...bunch of fuggin' whinging cunnoxes!

Instead of having the statement "NZ's Premier Fishing Website" it perhaps should be "Get your free lunches here!"

Thanks Kingfishsi, Stephen and Paul for taking the time to provide feedback although the level of responce thus far doesn't actually inspire me to action any other reccomendations from the peanut gallery!!

If you check the AUTO LOGIN box, then you will never have to physically login again, well on that particular computer at least!....Our system will recognise your IP address as belonging to a registered VIP member of this site...

Kerren.

A strange thing happens if I have the auto login box checked. I am logged onto the system and my name appears as having logged on, but when I post a reply to a message I get logged off and the new post is not posted. If I do not check the auto login box, I am logged on and new posts work.

Correct me if I am wrong, but ISP's issue dynamic IP addresses each time a dailin user is connected, if this is the case, how does the auto login feature work.

Cheers

That is how the cookies crumble, Naki!!......You might be right about the dynamic IP thang, but "your" particular machine does leave individual footprints...like it or not!....

I wonder if anyone else is experiencing similar problems as Naki??....

investigating as I type, mate!...thanks for the feedback!

cheers fellas.......

the request for feeback wasn't a plee for a damn good ego stroking session...we really needed to know if anyone was having troubles or if anything needed changing while we still had the tech wiz close at hand!

Bushie, it isn't me that needs a pat on the back mate.....the contributors, RealDevelopments then me in that order!...I am sure you can see how that conclusion is reached...good!

hmmm..very interesting, I think I will need to visit Lethal to see what is happening for my own eyes.....if the AUTO LOGIN box is checked and you login using your details then the system should recognise you as being logged in already for return visits.....do you have the login page as a bookmark?

no problems like that here...I just save the info on the login box and it logs me in with no hassels

Hmm, I think I must be a bit of a thicko too. I have the "auto login" box checked, but I still have to type in my full e-mail address and password. Not that I ever found this to be much of a hassle, but clearly something else should apply now?

Rus and Grounded...

Are your browser cookies set to "accept all"? or do you have them set at a high security setting?

Hi Kerren,
I access the forum from two computers. A Mac at work, and a PC at home. Good hassle-free feature in my experience. Give yourselves high fives all round (that way I don't leave anybody out)...

Thanks Mars

I don't have autologin enabled on my browser and it works fine for me.

Maybe because you have set your browsers autologin feature, its stuffing the automatic cookie logon feature for this site.

Just a thought.

good point Paul....just to clarify.....you are talking about the "autofill forms" function that comes as part of your browser?...perhaps if one has Autofill turned on it may be causing a conflict with our "auto login" function?

my brain hurts and I didn't even have a night on the turps...grrrrrrrr.....

Interesting question, Kerran, not something I look at very often! Anyroadup, upon checking I find security is set to "medium" but there is a select function which overrides default settings for specific sites and I have checked "allow" for this site. We shall see.......
