Mmmmmmm.
Would like to,share a fish pie recipe, sadly not mine except for the variation.
I have done this during the winter with albie, mahi, Marlin and yft.
All smoked fish.
The variation I did was to replace the potatoes for cauliflower.
I was more than surprised as to the comparison, I couldn't tell, the cauli mashed beautifully and was sublime.
In respect of the cauli, I boiled cauli first then mashed.
I also kept a third of the white sauce to lastly pour over the cauli topping.

Hope you enjoy, don't change the quantities as it works well.
Thanks Annabell.

White Sauce.

70g butter.
1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon mustard
A pinch of nutmeg
3 cups of milk
Salt and ground pepper.

Fish Pie

White sauce as above.
3-4 tbsp of lemon juice
1 tbsp finely chopped parsley.
500g boneless fish, cut into chunks, suits smoked anything as well me thinks.
3 hard boiled eggs quartered.
4 cups of mashed potato seasoned.

To make white sauce, melt butter in a pot and when it foams add flour. Stir over heat for about a minute.
Add mustard and nutmeg. Gradually whisk in milk, stirring until thick and smooth, season.

Mix lemon juice and parsley through white sauce.
Pour half of white sauce in shallow baking tray.
Cover with fish and boiled eggs.
Rest of sauce, then cover with mash potato.
Bake in preheated oven at 220c for 25-30 mins, until sauce is bubbling and potato golden.
