Can anyone recommend the best Overhead slow jig rods under $300?

Looking for something in the 150-240 g range for slow jigging mainly in 70-100 m around the top of the south.

Would love to go top end and buy a Synit, but can't justify the $$$ outlay at this point in time, I was leaning towards the Shimano T-curve revolution 100-200 g @ $250... anyone got any experience with these?

All suggestions welcome!!

Thanks in advance.

No need to pay those kinds of $ mate.

Best value for money I have seen is the colt sniper backbone, really a micro jig rod supposedly, but would work fine for slow jigs.

or i like the gravity rod from ocean angler, but cant see tha point when that colt sniper rod is so cheap.

Yes! I have two of them, the older versions like this: http://www.marine-deals.co.nz/shimano-t-curve-revolution-slow-jigging-rod-6ft-4inch-100-200gm

One of the nicest rods I've ever owned. Can't praise them highly enough. If money was no object, I wouldn't replace them. I use them for exactly what you describe, plus very occasional straylining.

Any legal snapper will put a bend on them, but they have handled kingies to 20kg admirably.

CD Slow Jig 150-250g are the business, absolutely wicked rods, I have one for exactly the same thing as what you're looking for, has dealt to snaps up to 22lb and kings to 20kg+

The guys at Big Blue in Nelson have one in stock if you want to check one out

Bit on the light side but the Catch Acid Wrap Pro Series Inchiku Rod 5'8" / 50-150g is good value for money. $200 through George from wave dancer.

Shimano ocea t-curve 100-200G SLOW JIG OVERHEAD. Probably more around $350 though. A mate has the 55g-150g and it's very nice!
