I see people always saying to shoot down to spotlight and grab some thread for binding guides with.
i did one dodgy repair job one time when i was desperate and used plain sewing thread and nail polish epoxy,
it looked like total junk but did the trick but its time to fix it up and give some others attention.

Should i just get some proper stuff or use some viscous rayon thread i have lying around will that turn out any better or not.
Also what types of coatings can you use over the thread, stuff you can get at the hardware store for instance?

Proper thread is better, you can also use Madeira thread from spotlight too but it is silicone coated so it helps to put a 20cm length in your epoxy when your mixing it.

I use proper rod epoxy, I haven't tried other stuff

I would be more worried about the epoxy than the thread
