Hi guys.

What's the best ramp to use to go to the noises? I am heading there for the first time in Saturday. Keen to know how long it will take.
I'm in a 560 fyran with 115 sws engine.

Takes me half n hour max. Having said that, I only go out when sea/swell is half metre or less.
btw I launch from BBeach. Half Moon Bay on the weekend can be quite interesting..to put it mildly.

Depends where you are leaving from. It's not that far really from down town Auckland. Also not open ocean boating either and if leaving from down town you can choose the sheltered side of rangi for trip hm.

I normally launch from kawakawa bay but figured it may be a bit much of a trip. Have a 115 saltwater series on a 560 series and it's a little thirsty but 4 tote tanks will be plenty I hope. Not looked at the swell in detail but it's looking ok with a northerly. What you fella's reckon?

I reckon Gulf Harbour or Waiake closest, Milford, castor bay and takapuna about 35 minutes (depends on boat speed of course)

this time of year you might be driving over the fish, but tomorrow morning at 5:30 am, I will be buzzing out that way oh yeah baby!

Je ne suis pas Pugwash.  Mon verre is complete, absolument.  Even thuogh it might be half empty.

Edit: with your boat, 30 minutes from takapuna max.  get there early if you want to park

There will be next to no swell in and around there tomorrow. It will be sweet as!

have a play around on this site,  http://webapp.navionics.com/?lang=en#@6&key=dsk%7DEiezi%60%40" rel="nofollow - http://webapp.navionics.com/?lang=en#@6&key=dsk%7DEiezi%60%40

zoom inclose to were your likely to head or were your likely to head from,
you can hit button on the left corner for more lines add for more definition,
can also add it to your phone for $12 or $20 for the more lines,
its better if your phone has GPS on it then it will leave a track for future reference.

Enjoy.

Navionics is a great app. You can use it to work out distances in km, but you can also do that on google earth. Plan your trip, work out the distance, know what your rig uses fuel wise per km, take enough fuel to do the trip twice..
file a trip report with the coastguard, or at least with someone at home who can call for help if you dont come back whe you say you will...

Do you know how much fuel your boat uses cruising at 40kmh?im pickjng a ball park of a km per liter...so 50 liters..there and back,
4 totes is at least 80...just be aware that if the weather packs up, you can burn more fuel fighting your way home..

I don't know how much it really uses yet, it's new boat for me. 50kms there and back at 1ltr per km will mean I'll have plenty on board I think. 4 totes is 96ltrs. May take 20ltrs in Gerry can spare to given its my first time.

Tell the missus and will submit a TR. Going to launch from mission bay. Looks to be simplest (I live in Pukekohe). First time to the noises. Normally fish southern end waiheke. Hope there's fish around!

I dont believe you will find a suitable ramp for your boat in mission bay. Okahu would be the closest ramp to mission bay.

Yea, that's the one Keith. Assume decent parking there?

I cant see you using 100 litres to get to the Noises and back with a 115hp outboard - even if it's a 2 stroke. All boats are different and the conditions of course play a part too, but all things being equal I would guess 2 of your tote tanks would do the job. If you take 4 you will have lots of spare capacity.

Mission accomplished. 2 tanks used - not a breeze out there today. Come to think of that, no f'in fish either but who cares. Great day on the water: listening to the radio there were heaps of breakdowns!!!
