Usually lots of rats & lots of boats but look around using your sounder. I think the earlier in the morning the better chance of getting decent fish. Good luck

We were out there just before Xmas and was the first boat there, wind wasn't that favourable so not too many boats ventured out. Like Pete said LOADS of rats very eager to hit the jigs, was good fun but nuttin for the bin. Even they got jig shy by mid morning. We found the better bait schools were holding off some of the smaller pins scattered about the area, the main pin not so much that morning. There's a buoy out there that you can use as reference point and few cray pots about that will let you know some other areas to have a look. Have heard of good kings being taken from there, probably leave it until autumn when the rats start clearing off.

find the ones higher in the water column and use stick baits or poppers...seems to be more effective on the 'keeper' models out there...even if there are a few other boats around
