Looking forward to the replies on this one !. I had new covers made a couple of years ago (heavy black "Sunbrella" type) and over the past 24 months, pollen and bird shyte seems to be making them a bit second hand. I was going to give them a waterblast, but concerned about compromising the water repellancy of the canvas.

If they are canvas covers, just google cleaning canvas tents -loads of tips on the internet.  Also lots on re-proofing canvas if they stop being waterproof.

Wet'n'forget did it for my covers. They had lots of green in the corners etc. gave them and the whole boat a squirt and a few weeks later she was all clean and stayed that way for over a year. The stuff is expensive but goes a long way and doesn't have bleach or other nasties in it like some of the other walk away stuff. I bought a 4 litre about two years ago and still have 3 litres left

I'm a sailmaker and we use wet and forget on brand new sails and covers. It should keep all mould and growth away for at least a couple of years and then it's simply a matter of reapplying and back to new again. It's a great product. Highly recommended.

Is it safe to use on covers with clear panels in them, ie on the clears as well?

My upholsterer told me ONLY use Imar on my clears - some solutions (and I expect wet & forget would) make them go cloudy.

Wet and forget is fine on clears. It is the harsh NZ uv that kills clears at the end of the day.
