Hi all, all spaces are now full for my first rod building workshop, I will look at running another one in late October if you wish to register send me a pm so I can put your name down.

ROD BUILDING WORKSHOP #1
Venue Edmonton Scout Group Hall
Coletta Lane Te Atatu South of Vadanovich Rd
Saturday September 12 2015
·         2 x 3hr sessions
·         Cost gold coin donation for each session to cover venue hire
·         Saturday mornings 9.00am - 12.00pm
·         Session One
·         Meet and Greet
·         Discuss with Keith what you are wanting to build
·         Discuss Blank construction. Materials used, actions, show some examples.
·         Tools needed to make your own rod, make up rod rolling jig
·         Select blank for style of fishing
·         Show and offer blank and components to be purchased
·         Select and discuss components for build-up. discuss options
·         Discuss guides, frames styles, guide sizing, ring materials, guide placements
 
·         Session two 2-3 weeks after session one to allow time to purchase materials.
·         Assembly of components. Epoxy used. Backbone alignment etc.
·         Threads, makers, sizes and types, colours
·         Binding guides. guide preparation, show trimming, guide alignment
·         Basic Diamond wrap. Spacing etc. Discuss colour preservers. Thread epoxies. Show application. Bubble removal etc.
