Hi Guys Big fan of your show and you guys have had a huge influence on my spending in fishing shops in the past few years. So note to your sponsors they are doing it right !!!!! But guys please don't go down the path of other shows when they have become to successful and forget your grass roots. A mother ship like that at the Barrier tho awesome is a bit beyond us mere mortals. Bring back the cabins and the down to earth kiwi style. Still a fan CBF Whk

I noticed when they called coastguard they had 4 POB's, would have been a tight squeeze for all to sleep on board. The back of barrier is still within the capabilities of us mere mortals, I have over-nighted there in my centre consul, it's a tight squeeze sleeping next to fish bin and consul but well worth the effort. ------------- Love fishing, love my job. Fortunately the camera folk are actually just inflatable dolls, which is why you don't see them in the far shots, the just deflate them and stuff 'em under the seats until the shot is finished :-)

Can you get Nathan to post something here or on fb about those weighted flies he was flicking around - I think he called them "scuds"? I don't agree with you on this, I love the fact they show and tell you where they are (albeit some minor details left to the viewer to work on) I have fished a certain spot in the coromandel that I watched and rewatched said episode I was 150% confident when I dropped anchor that the fish were going to jump into the boat ..............bugger all fish seen/caught I went to the exact same spot 2 days later with Nathan and I have never seen so many snapper feasting themselves straight from the berley pot massive kingfish and a large bronzy easily one of the best fishing sessions I have ever had (for tips and techniques not fish numbers )the extra 10%+ that they do above joe average fisher in the exact same spot has some phenomenal results And as a series I have never learnt so much and never improved my fishing results /experiences as a result of this show and the fantastic tips and trick I have had with both Milan and Nathan Just because they show you a spot dosent mean they "show "you the spot

Well unlike me I will chime in. Gareth your wrong. Showing these precious spaces does harm the local fishery and its enjoyment by locals. Aahhh. But this is life. The show and hosts are great at what they do. But lets be sure they are like all rape and pillage tv programmes to get the best show. Aargh. Great to watch but! Our country is a small space and they have limited opportunities to coast the show, it will always be in our backyard. And I'm a confused and frustrated nimby. They are entertaining, they are still learning to fish, they are making a quid out of our passion and country, it's all challenging stuff to us NIMBYs. Well before Watson put up numerous spots up here in fishing them was always plentiful. We had years and years of fantastic fishing with very few people fishing them. Now 20 boats is the normal and catching a feed is much much harder. bay is another place that used to be full of fish. Since spots have been beemed to.the.world. boat numbers kontiki numbers along with the usual commercial pressure means.its just so average now. Once a fantastic fishery i counted 10 kontiki fisherman two commercial long liners and 34 boats inside me. All fiahing the same 2km stretch of water. SUCKS MATE. Also the locals up far far north rnt super happy. Great show but for the good love of god small coastal communities cant handle that kind of pressure |

Set up a bait stall and sell the tourists the 40 burley bombs they will need @ 10 bucks a pop. Any how, I've never fished a spot they have shown. Rather I've applied the principles I've observed, found my own spot with the characteristics and fishing has never been better. |

I think the tackle shops, dive shops, cafe's, gas stations that make up small coastal communities actually need those visitors to survive. Spend your money, keep our communities alive, but don't go fishing.... When I go fishing up North we cruise around looking for structure and finding our own spots where there aren't other boats, as opposed to following a spot x book, maybe try doing that? |

BAF hit one of our got to places bottom end waiheke couple yrs ago...expected to be crowed out the following weekend.... Surprise surprise it wasnt.. nor after. Did a bit of digging.. re played show....apparently they hit and burleyed up the area / reef for a full day and bit before they got what they wanted on camera. We knew they had filmed in the area.. it took quite a bit of replay to get bearings off known land marks to locate accurately..... So for ppl to hit those spots they need to be familiar ... very familiar with the local landscapes . |
