Some nice chewing pork there, just out of interest what calibre is your suppressed rifle? I borrowed a suppressed 243 shot a reasonable pig with it a couple of weeks ago,it went down like a sack of spuds then jumped back up and ran 200 metres in to the gorse where we lost it gutted.

Bummer.
7mm08 - have had nothing get up & run away as yet, always try to tuck it in the neck or head shot.
Don't always take the gun sometimes I take My dog & just stick them.

blew a hole in the guts of a big sow with 7mm08 at 5 feet, the other day, dead as a dodo.

had my dog pinned to the ground by his guts, no choice so it was a gut shot.

I don't usually shoot my pigs, but glad I had my gun with me.

Nice hooks on some of those pokers.
How have you found them for eating?
My experience of animals we caught near Kaikohe was not that good.

Hi Tinfish.

I just bone out the Boars & turn into sausages & turn the Sows back legs into Hams or Pickled Pork.
Mix the Pork with a few herbs & some Mutton & they taste blo-ody good.
The rest goes for Dog tucker.

Hers a couple more.

Little 50lb Boy.

My new PB 160lb whole 125lb clean.

Nice boar, beats my best by 20lb.
FYI pig weights are usually reported as clean weight (guts out, head on). Get one over 200lb clean and you are in a very elite club!
