I can browse and begin to post using the IE at work but when I click post I get:
The website cannot display the page | | HTTP 500 | | | Most likely causes:- The website is under maintenance.
- The website has a programming error.
| | | What you can try: | | | | | | | | | |
and the post is lost.
All works fine on Firefox on the same machine. Any ideas where I should look?

A 500 error is a server error not a client error In saying that what version of IE are u using?

Chrome and Firefox all good but need to use IE for work. Not a major but seems strange.

That post worked ok on IE. Maybe it's when I quote something....

Yep, that seems to be it. A standard post works ok but when I "quote" an earlier post that error comes up.

It's these sorts of odd things with IE that have put it into serious decline in terms of share of the browser market. Pity you have to use it for work!

Agreed I'm far from a fan! We use a Microsoft CRM Database and I don't get full functionality with Chrome or Firefox.

If it is only on quote, then the chances are it will have something to do with the server ... and recent updates. Also of note with such a big update one has to expect the odd bug to how up....and considering how little there have been, is a big feather in the cap of the site and server admins.

Yeah I'm not having a bleat but just letting those know.
BTW I get the same error with sending a PM if that helps identify the issue.

And yes again.. very much so.... I run my own servers, with web software and data bases... very similar to what is here. It is feed back like this that make Admin jobs so much easier
