Any suggestions?  With some keen beginners. Bit early for tuna maybe, and probably more of a trip than they would like, but any suggestions for charter boats?

For that time of the year you could enjoy some excellent striped bass fishing from the North Fork of Long Island which, is a quick ferry ride from Rhode Island.  If you are arriving by plane to New York and driving to the Cape this is a quicker way to get there and you can stop for an evening fish on one of the charter boats (all are excellent and quite inexpensive maybe $100) and head up north to the Cape in the morning.

Ended up with a half-day trip with Reel Deal and captain Ian (http://www.fishreeldeal.com/). Some great shallow-water striped bass fishing using SPs, cut bait and (best) live mackerel. Four of us - the others being 2 novices and one first-timer, caught (I think) 12, 4 schoolies, one about 12 lb, 7 around 25lb mark. Great centre-console set-up and a skipper who worked hard to get us oon the fish.  Highly recommended.
