Hey guys. Anyone been to homunga bay land based fishing off the rocks with the life ring on them at the southern end of the beach? Went there yesterday (Waitangi weekend) and came up with only a few small snaps. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck or any tips as I would like to give that awesome spot another try next weekend?
There was plenty of activity in the water with Kahawai jumping and schools of fish cruising past. Cheers

We spent a lot of time there a few years ago before getting the boat. Nice spot but didn't get many good sized snapper there, lot of smaller ones.I'm guessing there's potential to catch good fish but I think the whole area is thrashed by land and water based fishing. Also it gets really shallow at low tide which for day fishing isn't that good as far as I'm concerned. its a really nice spot on a nice day though.
