Hi
Not sure if gimmick or not. Ibobber http://www.macsense.co.nz/shop/ibobber-bluetooth-smart-castable-fishfinder/ Deeper Fish finder https://buydeeper.com/fishfinder/deeper
Bought a couple of kayaks. Looking at FF options. Read that screen resolution is reasonably important and that is a contributor to cost. Thought why not a smartphone with an ip8 cover and a transducer. googled. and found the above.
Looks to be 2 or 3 main options ranging from USD 99 to 240 ish
Where this would win over a hard mounted option for me is that it can be used off the shore (supposedly)
Anyone seen or read or heard anything that isn't a paid review on these?

Have seen one in use, hummingbird brand, i-cast? Gave depth, and marked "fish" signal, display was mounted on rod, good for what was asked of it, just really basic. Would be a neat bit of kit to own, just need to be aware of its limitations, depth, and signal distance. Would be worried if using in ocean though, least it disappeared in a hole of white water with a big mouth or teeth.
