DogFish has claimed the first snapper pin of the 2005/2006 season with a monster 12.93kg fish (weighed-in at Taranaki Hunting & Fishing store)
Date caught - Friday 2nd September
Location - North Taranaki.

And he did it from a Yak - as he says in his fishing report.

Well done - that's going to take some beating this year!

Thanks for the Pin Bender, and thanks for all the congrat's guys.

Tomsta, at a $1,000 to put it on the wall, and $30 to put it in the smoker, I decided to save the $1k for the new Big Game Fish Kayak: marlin, tuna, etc...LOL

yeah well done doggy it is truely a fish of a life time now catch a bigger one please hehehe and would love to see a game rigged yaka lol remember as a kid harpooning rays and being towed around fitzroy harbour at the barrier now a yak would be a sight to see under tow from a biggy.

Yeah I don't think I'd really like to go Man-on-Marlin from a yak, certainly not with any of the big buggers we get here in NZ.

Tuna and kingies...now that should be fun! Unfortunately, getting tuna off Taranaki usually requires quite a lot of open water trolling, hence the need for a longer and faster fishing yak.

Yeah way to go Dogfish that is one damn good fish made all the more so by catching it out of a Yak. I wonder how long the Yak Marlin pin will go vacant for.....
