If you had a few hundy to spend on a Stick Bait rod, what would you get? I have no idea how a terex vs demon vs BBE would shape up. I hear the BBE is the ducks nuts for value for money, but if you had a little bit extra, what would you be buying?

The Offshore stickbait rods are a great choice also.

I will get a Okuma Salina 3 PE 4 to 6 from Aussie. They are under $200 nz(169 aus) and even have Fuji K guides. Recently used my mates rod here on the island and i am so impressed that i order one myself to replace my broken Demon Blood. Very good value for money.
Biggest GT to date on the Okuma rod a very respectable 78lbs and the rod handle it just sweet.

hey men, I've been using my BBE for a month or so now and i'm really impressed so far (not that ive caught anything big on it yet) but it casts well and seems to swim baits easy as. if you had a bit more $$$ id look at the demon blood 762xh or the offshore as mentioned above.

Nothing yet Craig. I have been using my lime tip so far. But I will be buying something next month. I have had a yarn with Wallopit and another chap about a setup. Both were very helpful, but still havent parted with any cash yet Embarrassed

What does an offshore cost? And where from?

That sounds pretty impressive Saffayakker for the $$ and with K series...no doubt you will put it through some honest testing..

Tone how much casting have you been doing?

The reason I ask is that if you are just getting into it, while new gear can make your life easier particularly if your original set up is heavy to use all day you may be better holding off for a while until you have seen or used a bit more variety.

Also what reel/braid are you using or wanting to use?

I think regardless of the brand you use make sure it all compliments each other and is well balanced.

I see your in Papamoa, maybe come down to the Jigging & Topwater comp (if your not entering in it?) and have a talk with 100+ anglers and maybe throw some baits off the pier on the 14,15 and 16th November.

Also I know the boys at Topcatch and Decoro will happily give advice and maybe have a demo set you can have a play with.

My opinion on what I like has changed heaps since starting, hence try as much gear as you can if you are not quite sure..spending a modest amount on a rod is still a lot to spend if you regret your purchase.

Hi Falco. Thank you for the heads up. At the moment I am using a kilwell lime tip, 24kg braid and a reel similar in size to 6000 series. Probably castin 40+ meters. Its a stiff bugger and the tip is probably a bit stiff too. I would love the opportunity to cast some different rods to get the feel. Wallopit, Topcatch and decoro have been really helpful. I just havent satisfied myself I have done the required homework before I part with my cash .lol.
