Have a Tyrnos 30 spooled with 80lb braid, can anybody recommend a jig rod to suit? Bottom bouncing, livebaiting.

Can't think of a jig rod game enough for a Tyrnos 30, 24-37kg stand up may be a better option?.
Thumbs Up

pretty big reel to be putting on a jig rod, as snag said heaps of 24-37kg options.

Yes i agree the tyrnos 30 is a big reel, but surely some of the bigger 400grm+/pe8 rods, especially some of the later model ones are up to the task? I'm just after something to put the hurt on the fish, not me.
So far I've looked at the big monster mesh, shimano blue rose, ocea offshore(considered the switchbait oh version), and the t-curve 500grm(cheap 2nd hand). But not sure what rod to "go" with as somehave the first guide close to the reel and even under load I'm wondering about line angle back to the reel. Not intending to jig with it, I'm built like Mickey Rooney, not Arnold Schwarzenegger Embarrassed

That reel will fit on most jig rods 300g + pe5, the issue will be fitting the reel into the reel seat so if it fits it will work. A Tyrnos is big but not as grunty drag wise as many of the jig reels on the market so don't worry about that side of it.

My thinking exactly, its the fit of the reel seat, and the reel clamp that will determine 90% of my rod choice, that and budget(wife) lol!
