Ahoy!

Sitting at my desk and raining outside so already looking forward to the weekend. Early to be looking at forecast but interested in some feedback on wind/location advice for Whangaporoa/army bay.

Kawakawa has been my go to lately and has been reasonably good. But keen to try elsewhere within an hr's drive from city.

Metservice are predicting Southerly for Saturday (which will probably change) - any advice on how this affects a small inflatable heading out from Army bay? And is the ramp there all tide?

And. . are there any key spots worth checking out on the outgoing am tide?

Cheers!
Nick

boat ramp is all tides as when tide out launching of beach easy.fishing spots well straight out and go right ,wellinton reef ,end of point etc. watch out for rocks in by shore as alot covered at high tide.

Just be careful on Army bay at low tide, its claimed a few unworthy vehicles on the soft sand. Gulf harbour has a great facility, breakwater shelters you from the southerly, but if you're going Sunday it looks pretty sweet at this stage.

...Army Bay at low tide, looking at it from the car park.
