I use it for all my jig knots and my wind ons are 150lb and I have some 120lb mono.

I love the knot, I always take a lighter and mushroom the tag end but have never had one pull yet.

I also think that in winter when cuda are around it's a bit more bite protection close to the jig.

There is a vid on youtube of them making knots to try against the Ag and it's all mono and the ag sweeps the pool.

I guess any knot can break though and someone here will hate the thing and maybe for decent reasons.

I use a lot of uni knots for softbaiting and they don't let me down but they don't test that great so what you gonna do?

It is important to pull it slightly forward  to set the half hitches as you go.

Predominately a flouro knot dood , if you want a good mono knot try the Benjamin knot(aka the Bungy knot) or the TN knot

Thanks Guys......Kev can you explain why its predominantly a Flouro knot?.......only reason i could think is because flouro is low stretch......but supple mono is easier to tie.....esp in 150/200 pound......i have done one and it looks good.......a bimini twist was good for the bungee effect.......but not the AG chain knot is it?....my only gripe is you use a fair bit of line but after what people have said about the uni knot breaking through thimbles......i am looking for something stronger.

I think the fluro "kinks" in place better as you put the half hitches in than the mono does.

But that said I take care with the mono and I have not had one move yet.

Fluro is a pain to tie knots in ( for me anyway) and the fact it kinks easy works to advantage with the ag.

Guys, new to jigging. So can I use a crimp, quick easy and strong.

I used crimps for ages.
If you look up ag chain knot in youtube there is a test (basic) crimp versus ag amongst others that has the ag stronger.

Also I feel the crimp is something else silver to attract bara's to the top of the jig.

Lastly the ag provids protection above the knot to abrassion and teeth.

Oh and the theory why the ag is stronger is twofold.

It doesn't put a crimp or bend in the mainline before the attachment (straight pull)

It acts like a spring.

It's pretty easy and quick to tie mate, I'm crap at knots.......

As you can tell I'm pro ag but after trying other methods at least.

Contrary to beliefs held, fluoro stretches almost as much as mono. People wrongly associate suppleness with stretch.
