Trying to find a reasonably priced spin rod suitable for 400g+ and also puka/blue nose fishing with upto 32 oz, anyone using something similar or recommendations? Cheers.

Second hand or ex demo: Kilwell Talon, Synit Extreme, Jigstar 450.

All great rods for that heavy work, personally seen them knock over some solid fish.

Second hand if you are after lower pricing and can get them. New models of these are obviously much more expensive.

Agree entirely with alan. If you have a more limited budget. M&w do a pretty good rod, come up 2nd hand on trademe a bit for under $200

What weight will the Ninjas be offered in Chris? Also what ball-park price?
I'm also after a heavy spin rod (preferrably 450g) to pair with a Stella 20000 and take on White/Ranfurly/tropics trips. Really stoked with my 350 shadow and would be keen to stick with jigstar but don't know if I can wait two blimmin months for the Ninja.

My other option is to get a JM Powerspell 450. I can get my hands on a used one (2011 model I think) for around the $300 mark.

I know the powerspells have been around for quite a while now and technology has changed.
Are they still considered one of the best jigging rods??
Or are they now a bit outdated?

The new Jig Star Spins should arrive earlier than 2 months now.  They will be available in "L", "ML", "MH" and later, "UL".
The Stella 20K should match nicely with the MH.  Price is a friendly $500.

These spin rods have Fuji DPS reelseat and Fuji KWAG guides so high quality all the way.

I have the MH spin as a sample rod you could borrow.  Tzer is trying to organise a Jigging Evening at the Tatapouri game club and I will definitely have it there.

The old Power Spells are a little dated.  The 450g blank is a beast and I didn't like it, so hard to jig with it.  All the other Power Spell rods were good except the 450g.

Well I've not advertised it as yet (other than this), but a bunch of my stuff needs to move aside I'm afraid, due to other commitments, but it's bloody hard deciding what to move and what to keep, with trips to both Ranfurly and the 3 Kings this rod does have some special memories Kev.

The Deepshot 450 would still be a go to rod for the bigger fish. Technology in it is pretty much up there with what others are just getting round to doing now. At $450 that's a great buy.
