My mate is thinking he might like a longer jig rod (overhead).

Right away I said three kings special but I couldn't even tell him how long they are....

I like my short rod (story of my life).

Anyway if you guys wana make a few suggestions go at it please?

He would look for a decent rod used most likely.

Hi Gary, 5"6 is probably considered longish for jigging. I have an Xzoga Taka 350 PE 5-8 overhead in blue which I really should get rid of if your mates keen.
Cheers Pete

Ta Pete, I had it in mind there are some longer rods out there that work....

Anyway that one you have is longer than what he has so will clue him in.

Thanks for the input.

He just got a boat so I don't know if he has to pull his head in a bit or not......

We build some 300-350g  6' jig rods on Power jig "uncut" blanks earlier. They jig easy, a good flow on the jig with little effort.  The blank would need to be a moderate taper,  not to parabloic as it loads lower on the blank.
 Cheers

Hi guys, sorry to start a thread and go silent.

I went to Waitangi yesterday afternoon. (my wife was sworn in as a kiwi in the first group ever to have a ceromony at Waitangi in the meeting house, very cool).

Anyway we stayed down and I couldn't get my log in via my phone....mutter mutter...

Thanks for the input.

I will run you guys ideas past my mate tomorrow over a beer and let him think on it form there.
