Zest do a few at 800gms, I call them man jigs and after you use them for awhile you'll see.
Very effective for hapuka and bass.

As Rob says.

Great for deep drops, get down first on a charter boat, stay in touch with the bottom better, less current or drift effect which keeps your line more vertical and jig spends more time in the target zone.

Very effective for big kings and puka/bass. I am of the opinion that big bait, big fish often works.

Often on deep drops, you are only jigging the bottom 20 or so meters of the water column. Sux when you lose a 800g as they are not cheap jigs.

Just an idea... Try 2 500gm jigs, tie or wire the bottom & top of Jigs....

A better idea would be to tie 10 x 100g jigs together, this would create an even longer jig.

Jigs ssplit ringed together sink all over the show because of hinge point.
