Preparing for the Tongariro to try out a few new flies with the Skagit gear . Here is an unconventional way I tie rabbit flies.

That's an unusual way of tying rabbits. Do you rib them?

Providing the strip is tied in securely at both ends there is no need to rib it. I like a slim profile and if the hair is too dense I pluck some out. The palmered hackle adds movement as well as stops tail wrapping.
