Hey Kerry, sorry about the late reply. It was around the 40m mark. |
![]() Bit of a break in the crap weather so hit the firth this morning in my little 12 footer with 3 peps on board. Fishing micro jigs in 10 metres it was all on from the first drop. Kaveman silver whippet was the jig of the day with the jig getting hit on most drops. Lots of small fish around, on the water for about an hour and came home with 18 between 350mm to 450mm. 1 white filet amongst them so not a bad day. |
![]() Out on the firth today in my little quintrex, all reports looked good, low tide at 10.00 so I thought yep could be a good day for a feed as I haven’t been out since Christmas with all this perfect weather we’ve been having. Cast 2 curly tails out the back to drag along behind the boat, I have found 5/8 jig heads are the best weight for drop and drag in 10 metre, not a lot of current so it was pretty hard to get the nod on the rod going as the jig head bounces along the bottom. I had a micro jig down on another rod, hunting for bear 3 rods out should be 3 times the fish, or so I thought. very hard day, picked up 2 snapper on soft baits and 1 on the jig. Still 3 is better than none. So fish sandwiches for dinner - Yum. |
