Can metserv/windyty/predict get it right? Up at 4.30 and not looking good but short drive to ramp ,so no issue and away we go,se 15 with a chop in firth so went too mon o war bay mussel farm as I have never ever caught fish there,Anchored away from farm for a couple then went and tied on to farm and couldnt miss,Nephew took his boat and they caught plenty as well in the farm. Mrs C got her personnel best 56cm, most went between 35 and 42 got 13.

Today was start the sanding day.

Finally, the weather comes right and we were able to get out on the water again. We launched Little Blue at half moon bay and headed out up Sergeant channel to the middle ground. There were acres of sooty shearwaters mainly sitting on the water but patches of kahawai breaking up all around. We picked up some kahawai and small pannies on kaburas, then headed out to the Aahas. It was oily calm at times. We anchored up with berley and a livey down deep and fished with jack macs and fresh kahawai. We ended up with 11 snaps up to 43cm, a big JD on the livey, and as a real bonus, our fav sashimi fish, a couple of stonking 30cm plus blue koheru.
All in all a fantastic day on the water.

Just filleted 3 for dinner,36 cm snapper,knife has fat on it and nice translucent fillet,no mushy white filets. Need to get out there Kandrew,plenty to had and no measuring required

Out from gulf harbour at 7.30 this morning with a light SW blowing, mainly fished the top of the peninsula with micro jigs, orange was the colour they wouldn’t look at anything else.

We had 11 by 11.00 nothing big just kept over 350mm.

When I filleted them 2 had white filets, so their are still some crap around.

all were around 350mm but I was talking to a guy down the fishing club tonight and he recons it mainly the fish caught on the sand.

Left home at 5.00am and got to Kaiaua farm around 6.30am,2 gurnard and 1 snapper in 2 hrs. So off out to the middle for nil.Up to Ponui farm and  6 more snapper,went quiet so off to rotoroa inside where the 3 reef system is. Lots of throw backs sub 32 cm picked up 1 more by then 1.00pm so "Times Up"

Now the carrots have slowed down in the Manukau, it’s back to the east coast.
Launched this morning from Gulf Harbour about 6 and headed for Flat Rock. Couple of drifts for nothing so saw a few boats and some birds sitting on the water a couple of k’s back towards Tiri. The sounder was chocker with fish and got my limit within half hour. Most fish were mid 400’s. Nice
