The NZCPR has launched a Declaration of Equality to counter the Government’s plan to replace New Zealand democracy with 50:50 tribal rule by 2040 through the implementation of the UN’s Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Please help create a strong movement to defend our democracy by signing the Declaration here: https://www.nzcpr.com/declaration-of-equality-2021

What in the baseless racist BS is this now?

It is not baseless at all.. Originally instigated by the Key government, was rejected by the clarke government.

And not racist.. unless one considers democracy as each citizen has a equal say rather than based on indigenous and non indigenous populations.

As to who or what NZCRP are I have no idea.

This popped up from Chris Trotter earlier in the week
"..

when the Minister of Maori Development, Nanaia Mahuta, presented her paper entitled DEVELOPING A PLAN ON NEW ZEALAND’s PROGRESS ON THE UNITED NATIONS DECLARATION ON THE RIGHTS OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLES to the 18 March 2019 meeting of the Cabinet Māori Crown Relations: Te Arawhiti Committee, it is rather surprising that her colleagues were not temporarily deafened by political alarm bells going off in their heads."

Some disturbing intensions here to PCJ
I think many will not take this sort of thing seriously until its too late, without oppostion plenty of laws are getting passed according to their mandate to change, they can do what they like. Trouble is this sort of thing is not campaigned on, so the mandate term is null and void.

Some text from your link.

We have examined the claims and here is what we found: In addition to claims for “the entire foreshore and territorial waters of New Zealand”, there are multiple, overlapping applications, that not only cover the coastline out to the 12 nautical mile territorial limit – including all “islands, reefs, tidal rivers, tributaries, estuaries, springs, wet lands” and the “airspace” above – but also extend to the edge of the “200-mile Exclusive Economic Zone”.

Some claimants are planning on “taking” “dolphins, whales, penguins, and seals”.

Many intend ‘taking’ “seabirds” – and their eggs.

All species of “fish” – including “deep sea” varieties – are being targeted, as are all “shellfish, oysters, snails, kina, paua and crayfish”.

Some are claiming protected islands like the Poor Knights – home to the endangered tuatara – with plans for “recreational uses” and the “gathering of natural resources”, while others want “the right to derive commercial benefit” from their areas.

Many claims prioritise “mineral extraction” – the mining of “sand, peat, shingle, aggregate, rocks, stone, and ochre”.

Others specify control of the “landing, launching, anchoring and mooring” of vessels, all “boatsheds”, and all “aquaculture” developments.

Many claimants state they intend imposing “rahui” – to ban others from fishing – and most are planning to declare “wahi tapu” to prohibit public access to the coast, especially sand dunes: “all the sand dunes of our foreshore are wahi tapu…

The NZCPR forum (now defunct) was full of racists. Muriel Newman is probably a nutter, and almost certainly a racist.

So yeah. Feels pretty racist to me.

 Totally agree m8.

Seems they have picked up on the cabinet paper , (Real) The secret signing of THE UNITED NATIONS DECLARATION ON THE RIGHTS OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLES. The UN  rights of indigenous peoples declaration and running with it for their own agenda, even thu the UN delication is scarry to democracy as we know it.
That is democracy based on the citizens , not based on race or culture.

Agree Steps, However its definitely a hard thing to raise in public and talk about. Anyone against the race based seats in government, councils and on boards or interested in defending democracy get labelled with the racism badge, which is being thrown around way to much as an easy way of getting people to back down.

But the there’s nothing racist about supporting equal rights and a colour-blind society. It’s those promoting racial privilege who are the ‘racists’.

I just hope enough of you even if you dont feel the need to reply, read into this a little more. There is a sea change happening and opposition to it needs your support.

I agree with that.
There are so many “intellectual” and celebrity elites just spouting rubbish that it is costing the middle and lower classes dearly. Sowing an air of mistrust and menace, which is not helping anything.

There are a few who are actually calling the current state of affairs for what it is. But you won’t see them on MSM because they don’t fit the oppression narrative. And it’s a shame because some have actually lived through a lot and have a lot to offer on social discourse.

Another angle on the same subject from a slightly better known media person.

NZ Has some big issues with separtist law coming to a town near you, including water ownership, and health based on race with the latest health system overhauls.

On personal experience at a recent few days at Middlemore hospital, i was asked to complete some info for my wife who was admitted. What Ethnicity was she. A Maori, B Pacific Islander, C Other.

That says it all really!!!

I agree. The Treaty of Waitangi, or at least modern interpretations of it are not compatible with democracy. That's the rather large elephant in the room that is never discussed. We as a country have to decide what is more valuable. NZ is going down a very strange and in my opinion, dangerous path. Any dissent is shut down and labelled racism.

technically people born and breed in nz particularly 4-5 generations are indigenous New Zealanders. The same as indigenous Polynesian.

Rozboon, just a few guys discussing policies that might well be coming our way. No panicking, no racism just social observations on what said policy/agenda means to us, the income taxpayer.

Discussion is part of democracy even after the election.
