Hi all,

Myself and a few mates have registered for this.
We have a bit of a mix with a brand new spearo, one with a year or so experience, and one with 3 years or so... but first time at this event for us all.

Few questions:
- Any recommendations for good/cheap accomodation down there?
- Are the catfish any good to eat?
- Do you need boat/kayak or is just off the shore OK? If off the shore is OK, do we just jump in anywhere we want around the lake shore?
-Looks to be polespears only, we only have guns so will need to get some poles. Any recommendations? Just looking for something cheap to have a fun day with.

Look forward to meeting some of you there, I assume there's a bit of a BBQ after weigh in and a few brews?!

Well PnS sell them and they always sell out.
A pink flesh, I think.
Be yourself; everyone else is already taken

The catfish will be dumped, no one would mind if you keep as many as you want, though.
You ca hunt in groups of 4 max, but if you're after the trophy it will be pairs only. The area to hunt in is a set area, so you'll likely sign up and explore. No yaks or boats, shoredive only. Can't give you a recommendation on polespears, but the pros seem to be reasonably well with a mid-range, simple three prong setup.

Hi M1keB, the catfish are being given to a organic farm as fertiliser.
You can go in a boat if you want but I have found it doesn't make much of a difference you just have to go back to the car and empty the floatline or plat if you are towing more than 40 catfish or it feels like your ankles are gunna break.

If you have a plat it makes things easier but if it sinks it makes things alot harder.
I found the best pole spear to be a 5 prong but they will be selling poles on the day that'll do the job.
Go hard or die trying.
