for those who wanted to hear more. Me and my mate went out from Te kaha in my boat to pretty **** conditions with viz about 5 meters or so we hit up a few spots with not much luck on the kingi front seeing just some rats. so we headed in close and started burling up and shooting a few snapper. I droped my gun on a rock to get some kina a next thing this mass of a kingi swarm past so i quiclky dove down and grabed my gun( a 100gun with two rubbers) and chased the kingi for a good 10m before getting my shot off i hit it bang in the middle with the spear coming out near it pectoral fin. it went nuts when i hit it and draged me a good hundy meters before i could get my mate to come over with another gun. by the time he got to me it had pulled me a good 300meters from where i shot it. i pulled him up close to me and got another spear through his head after abit more of a battle a had him by the gills and we got the beast into the boat! was one hell of a mission!

It has been too long since this thread was added to, so being the shy kind of guy I am: Here is a photo of Bull (photo credit: Floyd)

Note how the horizon dips down on someone's side of the boat

Quietly stoked with this.
9 snapper, apparently four were over 12 pounds, all shot before lunch time on the eastern side of Barrier, September 2011

The day afterwards I got lucky and got the bigger of these two while standing in knee deep water;

Luck played a huge part.

Some of my best dives i think.
1st dive at the barrier on chaffs yacht i shot 8 snapper and 3 trevs
1st 20lbr
2nd 24lbr on a shorey snoop.

1 of a few over time that i thought were 20 that had shrunk by the end of the day.
My best stringer of gurnards

Best haul of JDs off a weedline dive i got 5 and the boary, i could have shot ten jds that day but filmed the rest and got some nice film. should have shot them all tho.
Best fish i shot in tonga a coronation trout that i got on my first shorey dive.
Biggest kingy ive shot without a floatline
