As a stop gap measure I tossed in an offcut of some el cheapo artificial lawn type carpet that I used on my patio - seems to work a treat, no ridges to catch hooks in or collect bits of bait, just hose down at the end of the day, easy on bare feet and doesn't move around or bunch up - much!

Often wondered about artificial grass...

Im in the Mr.M ...so long as doesnt move..glued down so doesnt move, stretch in a non glued area when turn and twist a foot.
Can water blast  on regular basis.. bait etc washes out easy, so long as at least soaked when get home and dont let dry. If let dry ..soak and blast.
Get 10yrs plus out of it.

Years ago, I painted the floor of my aluminum boat with Treadgrip paint.  Fantastic stuff.  Very hard wearing and soft to the touch.  Its a latex based tread paint that you roller on.  It can be tinted to suit any color you want.   Its nice and soft to the touch, so no loosing skin of your knees when you kneel down on it.   Best of all you can touch it up at any time if you want.   I'm surprised its not significantly more popular.

Marine carpet.
Never ever use it in a glued situation on an alloy boat.
And if loosely placed remove waterblast regularly.

I have only glued down to glass and wood floor panels.
 Why not alloy?
I can see checked pattern being a possible issue.???

The carpet stores salt crystals.
Sweats and drys.
Eats holes really fast.
Being invisible because your not lifting it, it's a silent killer.
And waterblasting does not work unless your doing it for 24 hours.

Take a piece out and try to clean it to have no salt residue.
A mission for sure.

In 8'x20' carpet size I installed it myself for Sanger V230 2002. My old carpet is paper thin if it had a vinyl backing before it was worn down. The new carpet is much more luxurious and wonderful! The first time on the lake with a new mat, I couldn't even feel the water on it. Carpet doesn't seem to get wet.

I bought Marine to replace the 20 year old carpet in my Triton. Carpet color is very classy and easy to work with. I actually left footprints in it! I learned about the carpets here, if you also want to know, I leave this information. //https://www.boatingbasicsonline.com/best-boat-carpets/
