I used the n/w direction to put Tore on the spot to demo casting ideas to deal with wind , that direction was blowing onto his casting arm so he formed tighter loops ,double hauling and then turning around and shooting on his back cast. My comment was that the N/W wind can be a good fishing wind in Auckland for a number of reasons , lots of sheltered spots in the harbour, warm wind , an onshore wind in many places with low waves ( not much fetch) , and I imagine the combination of warm /onshore low chop does produce a feeding spike of snapper. A great outcome from the excellent turnout last night will be that we can start sharing out experiences as a club and build some information around these sorts of observations.Don't take anything I say as gospel, every fishing trip is full of new learnings , and I could equally go round the compass and say all wind is good for fishing! Just be flexible, inventive and have some casting skills to be able to get you fly in the water
Thanks Tore for the Demo's
