Yup paying your fair share of costs is fair enuff,, if anyone doesnt think so then they should stay home...
Shouldnt be up to one person to foot the bill and then the others still expect there share of the fish etc..
Pretty reasonable cost $60 for days fishing...
I went out fishing last monday with a guy down here and he was buying some tackle from me for $25. Asked him how much gas money he wanted for the day and he told me $20 is more than enough for where we were going so i gave him the hooks etc as payment.

If you are invited out then the invitee should not be complaining about how much they have to chip in especially when someone is kind enough to offer you a spot as not many people like taking others out because of the risk of people turning up with no money to chip in or the BS stories about will pay next week and all that carry on I did that once with a self skipper boat hire the ex bro in law said he would pay me back after the trip and he never did then he did it to a couple of other mates with their boats end result he ended up up losing freinds and not being welcome in their homes again.

So how much?
Have a commander with 115 hp...put in at mareti.. head up around hooks/ shag, check out a few spots... bait and burley fishing.
Costs.. gas between $110 and 120
Burley and Ice I make myself
Bait.. mullet, KY, squid, trev, S mackeral, from the wet fish shop  about $20/25 (which pre cut up.) including a packet pillies when the fish are hot..
Since everyone throws in we split the fish even...
We generally put in around dawn and load back on the trailer around 3:30/ 4pm

Like Feijoa I say about $40/45 each
It doesnt cover everything... like towing out there and all the bait.

And yeah had one guy was going to pay later and Aother still owes 20 bucks....
Good side to that... they dont visit any more or ask to go out fishing... guilt keeps them away from a grumpy old bugga like me... So no pay is often a bonus.

On the other hand was out just before Xmas on one of the guys threw my 80 bucks.. go to give change and refused to take it... "just said was a great day out....would like to do it again... soon"
So I offered to  slow smoke up some of his catch for him.... and a bit of jerky .

Another thing that I notice... good m8s dont always make good fishing/ boating m8s... yet pn the other hand, like the guy above who would not take the change.. not a fisherman or boat person was excellent company out there, but not someone I would normally hang out with...
Strange world sometimes.
