An excellent day out with some great casting and fly tying tutors with stands featuring didymo and  blue duck as well as some lovely ladies selling pink ??? flies for casting for recovery.
Very impressive were the Reddington 4wt rods which are used at the hatchery for children to use. I had never considered a 4wt to be a real NZ rod but it felt as light as a feather with quite a bit of backbone. As well, we had a good range of Sage rods to try.
Thanks to the tutors who travelled and gave their time, perhaps it could have been better attended but I watched quite a few people being taught to cast who had never fished before.  And some excellent lady casters who put many blokes to shame.
Thanks again to those who put in their time to organising this event.
