We've booked a bareboat charter from Picton (EJ from Compass) in mid March and are planning to head out to D'urville for a few days fishing. We're all from the east coast and only really fish blue cod and the odd groper off Kakanui / Moeraki.

We're all a bit lost for targeting snapper, kingis, or anything else we could encounter up there.

We don't expect any spots or anything, but we'd really appreciate some advice and basic strategy for targeting these other species.

Any other relevant info on the area would obviously be appreciated too.

Happy to trade local info up that way for the same around our area (or a trip out).

Thanks in advance.
