The marlin magnet Hakula going on to the hard the next day for a spruce up after a busy season.

 

We tried popper casting and jigging in the lee without much success. Again the swell closed out the better spots.

 

Sharks at the FAD,s were a problem they seem to home in on the boat noise.

 

Yfin were one of the fish on our wish list when we first talked to Jeff and he had plans to take us to a sea mount were we had a good chance at them along with doggies. Again the weather put paid to that but we did manage a small Yfin on day three. I hate to say it but the Yfin seem to be going the same way as ours NZ fish.

 

Will I go back? Hell yes if that was the fishing in bad weather conditions I only wonder what is avalable on good days.

I can and do recomend Hakula Lodge. The buisness is up for sale and could be in different hands right now but hopfully it will be run to the same high standard.

 

Best advice- take a can of flyspray with you it is like gold in the islands!!!!
