Was a bit quick on posting this, I have been to the same place a couple of times and have had success in trolling around the yellow fin schools. I am wondering wether any of you have any experience with any other techniques such as stickbaiting or Live baiting or jigging? Should i bother packing the equipment that is needed for these alternative methods or do they not work on yellow fin tuna?

many Thanks in advance

i would imagine stickbaits and poppers would work well if they're schooling up around the surface

We were there a month ago, went for a 3 hour troll and pop, we landed 2 yellowfin & 1 mahimahi.
They are around!, just watch out for the tooth gang, we lost no lures but were told we were very lucky, also got a blue fin trevally. All were on the troll.

Just look to the heavens & seek the birds then fish u will have.

Of course take your gear, take what ever u can carry, i had undies in my rod tube!.

Soo jelouse, cant wait for pics!!!.Thumbs Up

Take the gear, popping and jigging works just as well if not better perhaps than other methods of targeting YFT in the right situation.
