Lake Rotorua's surface water temperature is sitting around 13.3 degrees C.  Algae levels are still high enough to discolour the lake and the Ohau Channel.  Barometric pressure dropped 3 points since 6.30am this morning to sit at 1012.6hPa.  Humidity rose 10 points this morning to sit at 95%.  The thick fog has lifted in most places, though there is now a fine rain instead.  There has been 3.7mm of rain, mostly on the western side of the lake.  Currently it is 9 degrees C with a 1kph southerly wind.  The outlook for today is mostly clear with an 18kph NW wind.  Tomorrow's outlook is for 14 degrees C, partly cloudy and a 14kph WSW wind.  The UV Index remains on 3.  Sunset this evening will be at 5.10pm and sunrise tomorrow will be around 7.13am.

Lake Rotoiti's surface water temperature is around 14.2 degrees C.

The Ohau Channel is not producing fish consistently with some of the fish being in poor condition.  There was a very good run of smelt up the channel the night before last which could inprove things.  Early morning seems to be the best time to fish here.

Fish are coming into Ruato just on dusk but don't seem to be hanging around.  They tend to move in again late in the evening.  Those fish being caught are up to 3.9kg in weight.  Things are similar at Lake Okataina for those fishing from the shore.
