Lake Rotorua's surface water temperature is down to 14 degrees C. Algae levels are still high, particularly on the down-wind side of the lake. Currently it is 10 degrees C here with heavy showers at times and 7kph NNW winds. 1.6mm of rain has fallen in the past 6 hours. We are expecting 13 degrees C by 3pm with rain clearing to showers late in the afternoon. Tomorrow's outlook is for 13 degrees C with 22kph westerlies. The UV Index is moderate at 3. Sunset this evening is at 5.19 and sunrise tomorrow morning will be around 7.04am.

Lake Rerewhakaiitu is producing nice fish both day and night. There are quite a few hanging around the boat ramp liberation point and a few at Gumboot point.
Ruato Bay is producing a few nice fish early morning as are the Transformer and Cafe streams at the Hinehopu end of Lake Rotoiti.
The Ngongotaha is still carrying some colour in the lower reaches and rainbows and browns are still moving upstream. Fishing after dark in the river has been successful for some. Early morning is best at the moment.
