Hi,

My dive buddies and I found ourselves next to a little creek with eels in it, after flagging our dive due to poor visibility this weekend. We had come a long way and it would have been rude not to shoot one of them and show up empty-handed back at home.

Now I feel bad after reading this article

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/category/story.cfm?c_id=44&objectid=10519200&pnum=2

and I'm not even sure if what we did was legal.

Is there an online source that I could use to educate myself about recreational eel regulations (allowed fishing methods, size/bag limit)? I searched MFish, DoC and Fish&Game websites but the stuff there is only relevant to commercials.
