Just a note: The pinfish page will be locked up so anyone who want to comment will have to start new threads ... just keeps it a bit more tidy.

Rules of the Fishing.Net Forum Pin Fish Section

Submitting Pin Fish Entries.

Do not send fish entries by courier. If you wish to send fish in, please ask your wife or girlfriend to pop in with the fish on ice in a chilly bin and to bring her best cooking apron.

Entering fish.

Submit your entry to the pin fish section by email to Cicada ([email protected]).

Proof of weight

Some form of proof will have to be provided, as we all know how enthusiastic fishermen can be. Weights must be accurate to at least one decimal place.

Game Fish

The same proof offered to game fish clubs for tag and release purposes is acceptable, as are weighmasters certificates or photos of the fish hanging at the weigh station.

Sport/bottom fish

Any official contest weight report/receipt, or photocopy, of official documents are acceptable proof.

For private entries the onus of proof is on the weigher and the minimum proof accepted will be as follows:-

The fish must be weighed on decent scales and a photo of the fish being weighed with the weight clearly visible, must be submitted with the entry.

Remember there are a number of sets of accurate scales out there such as gas station lpg scales, scales from any retail shop or establishment, which are generally certified. These people will often let you throw a big fish on to weigh. Remember to include a photo of the fish and scale reading.

As this is an online pin section, we cannot officially check the weight of the fish. We have to rely on the accuracy of your scales and your own honesty in recording and reporting the weight.

Any persons found exaggerating fish weights will be excluded from being part of the pinfish section, and will have to buy several rounds at future forum social events. A cowpat, signifying a tendency to exaggerate, may be attached to your profile in place of any stars.

The pinfish holder will have the name and the fish weight recorded in the relevant section of the Trophy cabinet. They will be able to use the relevant fish pin as part of their profile signature on the section.

They will be allowed to boast mightily at forum events. Being awarded a pin does not absolve people from buying rounds at forum gatherings.

This section will be administered by the pin fish section administrator and the forum admin and their decisions will be final.

Any appeals must be accompanied by several large bottles of rum and an invitation to go fishing with the appellant.
