Hi - I am looking at getting a new sounder combo and have heard good things about the GT51 transducer as a good all rounder to start with.

I would like something that helps with bottom fishing/ spearing (to say 400 feet) as well as marlin fishing.

Does anyone use side scan to find/ mark Pelagics?

Or would I need a dedicated High wide transducer ?

Many thanks

GT51 is a brilliant sidevu, downvu transducer that is suitable for depths to 80m only. As most marlin spend most of the time close to the surface, this sounder should be perfect and it scans a much wider area than conventional cone transducers
