Hit the road at 7am from Hamilton and got to Pokohino Beach by 9am. High at 11am. Havent been hear before - looked promising ledge in deep water.
Berleyed up a storm, chucked in the stick bait for a cheeky chance of a kingie. Nothing this time around.
Straylined pillies for the next couple of hours. Plenty of small maomao and trevally in the berley, occasional snapper rolling through. About 1m swell crashing in.
Only nailed a horse of a Kahawai and smaller one for the hours effort. Even small shark (1.5m) turned up in the berley as we were packing up.
Spot seemed like it had promise for some better batches, maybe not today. Anyone fished here recently?
Left the beach around 2pm. Absolutely packed, maybe like 30 to 40 cars parked in the carpark and up along the access road. Madness.
