Great result there Seawolf! I reckon my lad would mow the lawns for a year if I could get him onto one of those at the moment! We have a couple days down that way in a couple weeks so I'm praying they hang around (I could do with some time off the mower too!)

Good on you for getting the lad into it... wicked Thumbs Up

Seawolf we used to get them down there on live jack mack when they were not on meatballs by just drifting with a live jackmack down about 30 to 40m. Use a small heavy duty livebait hook with 100lb flurocarbon trace about 4-5 feet long and 2 oz ball sinker above small heavy duty swivel. Hook livey through nostrils let it out and have reel in gear with a couple of kg drag and they hook themselves in the corner of the mouth(don't need to free spool as they just inhale the baits, no mucking about). Set in rod holder and just wait.

Well done, thanks for the vis.
Been 30 years since I've seen a yft meatball down there.
Hope that again becomes more frequent.
It's a great opportunity to go light on tackle, outstanding fun.
Just cruising in my now sweetas pimped out Southern 755 HT0!

Great stuff👍
I can still remember, in late 90s on Zambucca catching blue maomao then using them as livies near a work-up and several decent YFT getting caught.
