That's a good watch Talk about a tough casting environment though- onshore breeze on a beach. Not sure I'd survive. Those massive bait balls on the beach sure do help though.

Awesome vid. Was it a double handed rod he used on the big fish?

I have an 11' 5wt switch rod I want to try in the salt. The thing casts a mile with ease on the river so I have been wondering if it could be useful in the salt if set up right. You can still do overhead or just a simple roll cast will send it miles with the integrated skagit line I have. Anyone tried it?

Thanks Will. That was a good find. The 'Wynns' video that followed along behind in my YouTube feed was interesting too. Looks like one of the main sources of income on the island is shipping fish back to Rarotonga. All the fishing done with big gill nets in the lagoon. I won't be visiting anytime soon

You boys might like this vid, fishing for 'tuskies' up in Queensland - I think out from Airlie Beach.
