Not good at all .. dont know much about yak'n . but is today the kinda day for it??? if this is a missing persons is it gonna come down to uneccesary risk taking or was the king just a little tooo big . . . I really hope someone is at home unaware that their yak has wandered off alone.
I would have thought they would have been fishing the bays giving the tides and wind direction. Tides are big at the moment so i would say theres a fairly good tidal stream and sou'westerlies on the out going tide .. a fair distance could be travelled.
To think that someone could be out there .. . . very concerning!!!
Even if he was I doubt he would own up to it.
The father-in-law is a senior sargeant in the police and this what he told me.
Apparently the kayaker was picked up by a motorist mid morning Friday and told him his kayak was blown out to sea.
The motorist called the coastguard the following day when he heard about it on the radio.
Police arent too happy as you would expect. Used 25 people searching or on alert over a 24 hour period.
Hope they kept the snapper....
Hope the find the dude and make him bloody well pay for the peoples time etc...might just make the tosser wake up his ideas just a little.
And the cops should keep the yak too. The bozo is obviously unsafe in any conditions material.
Stu.

Sums it up, a complete waste of resources which who knows could have been utilised elsewhere. Hope he foots the bill.
