Putting it out to the floor....

I've got a Stella 10k that's getting spooled with the new Ocea 8 in PE5.

Looking for a decently high-end spin jig rod to pair it with. Primarily aimed at 200-300g jigs, I have a broomhandle for 400g+ stuff already.

Current leading option is a Jig Star Battle Royale ML (PE3-6) 150-400g.

Any other suggestions? Is it worth trying to find a Synit, and in that case, which one? My preference is to support a "local" brand if possible.

Stella 10K is High gear yeah?......it can be used to jig if you must but a PG (lower gear is better suited for jigging purposes)....High gera is better for popping and stickbaiting as it can shift the lures faster and retrieve line quicker.
You might find it a bit hard getting your ridmm going on the HG.
Once the idiots turn up..Im outta here...No time for Drama Queens.

Oops, for clarity, Stella 10000 SWB PG. Low ratio.

Although I've been jigging a high ratio for a while in a larger size, just gotta sweep the rod more to get a rhythm and it gets bloody tiring :/ Hence the new setup is PG.

I hadn't thought about Offshore. Good looking rods.
Jig weight range seems fairly narrow though at 150-250g... do you know if these are happy enough jigging out to 300g?

Something about the 2 piece thing just doesn't float my boat. Which is silly, because I have two other Energy Concept rods with the joint at the butt and they're great rods. Dunno, maybe if my local had one I could lean on, but as far as I know they're also backordered until 2047 some time.

Not 100% sure
Maybe able to custom something to yr range
Nice people to deal with
There is a heavier option but at 300-450 but might be to stiff.

I don't think you can go wrong with jigstar can you? I just bought a battle royale medium heavy overhead and they sent me a light by mistake, had a little play and man its a step up from my ninja. looking forward to getting MY rod before the weekend hopefully!

i like that jig stars have such a wide jig range and REALLY handle the jandle! I fished my medium light for years with pe8 - Good luck with your decision

Jig Star Ninja ML Spin or Battle Royale ML Spin is exactly what you need.  Rods have a very wide jig range, great bang for bucks, readily available and well proven at the 3 Kings.  Also a NZ brand with NZ warranty.
give it death!

I would be all over a Battle Royale already but my local apparently can't get me one for a while, part of why I'm looking at options. I have a bunch of time off at Christmas that I plan to spend quite a lot of fishing.

Welly mate, and thanks for the offer but I already bought myself a shiny Battle Royale ML, caught its first Kingfish on Saturday even. Lovely rod to jig with, fishes a 300g very nicely.

I did notice it got a pretty serious bend on even with a 10kg fish. While it seems like basically the perfect rod for around Wellington, am I going to get smashed if I take this thing to the Kings or Ranfurly (aka do I need to buy a Stella 20k and a Battle Royale MH at some stage)?

No you won't smash this rod at the 3 Kings or Ranfurly.  The ML blank is what I have used there and smashed plenty of 30+kg Kings and 50+kg Bass with it.  I typically jig much heavier jigs than 400g for the big Puka and Bass there.   You have to know when to take the rod out of the gimbal belt and fight underarm to reduce rod angle during the fight.

give it death!
