I had a Takacat, before some asswipe stole it.
Not a bad boat, but the transom was absolute rubbish and I ended up replacing it with UHMWPE. I also note that all bolts used were 304SS, which pissed me off a bit, as to have these 316 would have been probably a whole dollar more.
The design of the ropes/d-rings on the tubes managed to scratch my fully faired boat, which pissed me off no-end. If you're not using it as a tender, this wouldn't be a concern to you.
I liked that it had handles on the inside of the tubes, such that it makes it easy to carry by one person, I like that the TrueKit also has these. It was a very important criteria for me when I purchased a replacement, most don't seem to have those handles.
In the end I ended up going for a Zodiac, for a few different reasons, but needless to say I am very happy with it.
I probably would buy a Takacat again, but, I think I preferred the TrueKit over it when I was looking at replacing the Takacat. Haven't used or tried a TrueKit, however.
