Just had the 1st 3 month service for the Merc warranty. Motor done only 11 hours...cost $683

Charge included 3 hours labour $247 + GST?

Is $683 a reasonable charge? No wonder some of us need to do our own service. Then it has to be done in another 9 months, no doubt another $700 or more!

Has anyone else had a 3 month service on this motor...if so how much $$?  Thanks

I've just been back through my receipts and my 3 month service cost me $354.05 back in 2015.  Annual service since then $500-600 depending on parts fitted.  This was with my local mercury dealer (not where I bought the motor).

The hourly rate component is not unreasonable provided they actually performed mandatory checks, fluid changes and adjustments. Not just a tick box exercise.

You would need to see a breakdown of the tasks to comment.

Just had my 3 month service done, same motor. Oils, filters (inc. boat fuel water separator) about $520 all up.  They didn't remove the leg as not needed for the first 3 month service so probably looking at a bit more when its time to do the impeller

Seems ok.
Similar to many other motors.

Price is not my concern, quality of service I can rely on is.
These modern motors are generally really reliable.
Yes there are service costs.
But it's peace of mind on the water for sure.
Just cruising in my now sweetas pimped out Southern 755 HT0!

I have no idea the cost of a 4S , let alone the 1st service..
I have been under the impression higher than 2S
On that basis 600/700 for a full service is very similar to a V4 or V6 2S full service and check.
I would not be complaining put it that way.

Just had the 20 hour service done on the same engine $503 inc GST at my local Merc dealer West Auckland Marine.

I have dealt with this company for around 20 years and find them 1st rate.

Yep mine cost about $500 for the 20 hours service then seems to be $700/100 hours thereafter.

Sounds like the cost was at the higher end of the range. Thanks for the feedback everyone.

When i convert $680 into slabs of beer that I now cannot afford it really hurts! LOL
So you're offended...oh dear how sad, never mind.
